ok, i was keeping it under wraps until we had full community approval and a confirmed start date, but.....
yes ladies and gents, in just two days i will begin work on my sixth baltimore mural (and something like my 56th ever).
this building:
will be transformed into (essentially) this:

the mural is located at 4337 Park Heights Avenue in Baltimore, and will be a gift to the city, from Sinai Hospital. This year marks Sinai's 50th year and the mural is one of their "50 Acts of Kindness". The good people of Sinai chose me (from the city's mural registry) and we worked together to come up with a suitable image. The message behind the piece is, as it almost always is, love. Giving love & giving kindness--- and the trickle down effect that that kind of behavior can generate. The whole is about 30 x 50 feet and should take me about a month to complete (and really, i only HAVE a month, and then summer camps and festivals start and there won't be much time for anything else!).
So, if you're in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by.
In the meantime, help me persuade mother nature to keep the days cool and save the rain for evenings!

knitimal in the spotlight: moe

this is Moe.
Moe is a Knitimal™; a hand knit, hand sewn soft sculpture sweetie made with only the finest materials.
like all Knitimals, wool was made without a pattern and is completely unique.
Moe is an heirloom doll--- a piece of art you can cuddle!
he likes the idea of hang gliding, but will likely never try it.
he also likes the idea of riding a unicycle.
Moe is looking for a nice warm home and a couch he can curl up on!
and boy, does he like to curl!
measures about 19" from ear to toe
he's Knitimal #566

Smile of the day
While hanging with my favorite 3 year old, and working on knitting up a new knitimal body, she leaned over and said:
"when you gonna put some air?"
"when am I going to do what?"
"when you gonna put some air in it and make it big like that one" (pointing at a knitimal sitting on a chair).
"when you gonna put some air?"
"when am I going to do what?"
"when you gonna put some air in it and make it big like that one" (pointing at a knitimal sitting on a chair).
I could only smile.
